I’m trying to get Pulse Station to work on DSM 6, but I don’t seem to be able to. I’ve installed MariaDB and then Pulse Station. After that I follow the instruction on the FAQ:
“Just 2 lines to fix this:
Open ssh terminal and execute following commands:
sudo mv /usr/bin/php /usr/bin/phpORIG
ln -s /volume1/@appstore/PHP5.6/usr/local/bin/php56 /usr/local/bin/php”
However, when I enter the last command: ln -s /volume1/@appstore/PHP5.6/usr/local/bin/php56 /usr/local/bin/php
I get the following message: “ln: failed to create symbolic link ‘/usr/local/bin/php’: Permission denied”
What can I do about this?

I am in the same situation.April 10, 2016 at 9:07 am #3162MikaKeymaster
Use also “sudo” in front of the second command lineApril 10, 2016 at 7:16 pm #3163hgravatarParticipant
Thanks Mika for the info. I tried it. It didn’t give me a message in the terminal. However, I still can’t start Pulse Station. I only tried the second command, because I already did the first command. I thought to do all the commands once again. Now I get the following message though after the first command in the terminal:
“mv: cannot stat ‘/usr/bin/php’: No such file or directory”
Kind regards, HenriApril 10, 2016 at 9:31 pm #3164
I am in the same situation.
root@NAS2015:~# sudo mv /usr/bin/php /usr/bin/phpORIG

Did you try to run PulseStation from Package Center or from the user interface of PulseStation ?
Because since DSM6 there is a problem to start PulseStation from the package center.
If you want to run PulseStation you have to go to the user interface (http://ipsyno/PulseStation/administration) and start the core service.April 12, 2016 at 2:45 pm #3167
The instructions with commands for mv and ln are only to make the database connection work for your scenes etc.
The core should still run.
What is the precise issue with the DSM 6 installation?
Do you get an error message? The core doesn’t start? …?

I try to start “Services” and “Add-Ons” on the left side but nothing happens but every ting else seems to work.
If you won’t to use TeamViever I can give permission to log on my computer an you can have a look?

I can’t see whether the first part of your command succeeded, but the second part is ok, I see following:
php -> /volume1/@appstore/PHP5.6/usr/local/bin/php56
What you can do to verify it’s ok is execute following command:
Then verify mysql is in this list.
If it is, then the database connection can succeed and everything should work.
“I try to start « Services » and « Add-Ons » on the left side but nothing happens”
=> It’s a menu item, you cannot start those?
Do you mean nothing happens if you click on this link?
If so: please create a separate topic for this issue.

I still can not can start « Services » and « Add-Ons »!
If you have time, how can i check if « Services » and « Add-Ons » works!
This is how it looks:
root@NAS2015:/# php -m
root@NAS2015:/#April 13, 2016 at 8:15 am #3186
To save time I do a clean installation of the DSM so we so we know that the NAS is default.
After that a make a contact with you.

I’ve the same problem, but the problem is in the modules from PHP; there isn’t the module mysql.
This is the result of “php -m” and is the same that “php56 -m”:
admin@DISKSTATION:/$ php56 -m

Inside DSM, go to webstation settings and enable mysql inside the php settings.
Only then it will be made available.
Also do install MariaDB.

Thanks for your rapid response.
It did not have the WebStation installed.
I’ve installed this and I enable mysql and now work….. 🙂
Sorry for my English
