I just got the chance of reporting a long time issue with my Synology and PulseStation, updated to DSM6.
I installed PulseStation as stated in official docs
Precisely, I ran those 2 commands:
sudo mv /usr/bin/php /usr/bin/phpORIG sudo ln -s /volume1/@appstore/PHP5.6/usr/local/bin/php56 /usr/local/bin/php
PulseStation works fine, but outgoing email (ie DownloadStation notifications) are not working anymore. I opened a ticket to Synology support and got the issue fixed by putting things back to the way they where (phpORIG back to php).
Do you know a way around this? I need to choose between having outgoing email from my NAS or having home automation… this would be sad!août 19, 2016 à 11:09 #3676
Can you run following command?
Then check whether mysql is in the list.
If it is, you don’t need the PulseStation fix.
For the remainder: I set-up the mailchimp servers as smtp servers to send email from my NAS.
Then it should just work.

Hi Rens thanks a lot for your kind reply.
Mysql is not among the php modules, unfortunately (latest DSM6).
admin@DiskStation:~$ /usr/bin/php -m | grep -i mysql | wc 0 0 0août 20, 2016 à 1:29 #3678
Inside the DSM settings, go to notifications and set-up under email an external email provider.
I think that could help.

I’m already using GMail external email provider.. and that’s not working!août 20, 2016 à 10:22 #3680
File a complaint to synology that Downloadstation is not respecting your email preferences inside dsm :-p
And in the same time please ask them to include mysql inside both php versions.
It makes no sense that they have one version without…
Sadly both issues are in the hand of Synology and there is not much we can do about it… 🙁
Fyi: I switched myself to raspberry pi 3 and since then it’s running super smooth without any issues. Never been happier.

But given this: wouldn’t be easier if PulseStation could use directly the PHP version already containing mysql extension??août 21, 2016 à 12:57 #3683
Yes, that would be a lot better, if we could use the php56 one instead of php.
Sadly we have no access from within webstation to php56…
